These are all drawn and painted from life, and from 2013 they were mostly done in small (A5) sketchbooks, my favourite being the original paper Moleskine Watercolour Notebook which is landscape format - I stocked up on spare books when they changed the paper. Educational Uses
Assuming you have wireless connectivity and a separate computer attached to a projector, AirSketch gives you the option to project a whiteboard (Lite version's only function), images, or a PDF and annotate them in real time. For presentations, AirSketch will recognize slides turned into PDF and allow you to advance them remotely, though there will not be any animation, sounds, or movies stored within the PDF. Presentations made using AirSketch are broadcast to the local network only, and you should try it out in the location you will be presenting in before the time of your presentation to make sure everything works correctly. Because it is only for the local network, it cannot be simply shared with those on outside networks without other screen sharing software running on the local computer. However, since AirSketch does not rely on a 3rd party website for broadcast, you do not have to worry about that website working correctly or whether, sometime in the future, that company will stop hosting presentations made using the app.
Tips and Tricks
Air Sketch Pro
- Firefox, Safari, or Chrome should be used for optimal performance. Hitting F11 on a PC will put the browser into full-screen mode to optimize presentation space.
- Using AirSketch with a presentation is a good way to untether yourself from the front podium and also emphasize key points on a presentation slide. Even with a stylus, though, writing readable text on-the-fly can be more of a problem. Fitting hand-written text onto a slide can be more challenging than you would initially think, so make sure to practice this a bit to better understand the pros/cons of this application.
